Homebuyers of Kharavela Enclave, an OSHB housing project in Khandagiri, protested on Monday at OSHB office Unit IV. They demand immediate unit handover.
The homebuyers who protested said that they have already paid the full amount for their flats to the board but they still haven't received their units even though the deadline passed years ago. As many as 100 allottees demonstrated before the board's office on Monday.
The board started the project in 2011 and set the deadline for its completion within three years. Construction began along with booking of the flats. However, 12 years have passed and the project is still incomplete.
The project was supposed to be completed by 2014 and we should have got our flats. But there are no positive signs so far. We have reached out to the board a number of times in the past, but to no avail,” said Susanta Panigrahi, secretary of Kharavela Enclave Allottees’ Association.
Panigrahi mentioned that they submitted a complaint a few months ago to the chief minister's office, which was then forwarded to the housing and urban development department and OSHB. However, they haven't seen any action taken yet.
